Old Roar Gill

This lovely natural scar runs from Buckshole Reservoir, under St Helen’s Road, terminating at the delightful Little Roar Gill.

A Victorian fern lovers’ dream, this short valley is home to a plethora of plant life including liverworts and violets.

Great for escaping the mundane, the Gill is best explored after rains to see impromptu waterfalls and Little Roar at its best.
