Dinosaur footprints
A few miles east of Hastings, East Sussex, lies Pett Level beach. Walking west along the promenade gives access to a jurassic wonderland of fossils, bones and dinosaur footprints, at low tide; personally I wouldn't do it at high tide.
It takes a little patience and practice to find the footprints but when you have found one, more will follow. You'll soon be finding 'trackways' of footprints millions of years old.
Look along the large, flat slabs of rock which are easily visible at low tide and you will discover (not in all of them) the sunken and raised prints of iguanodons, therapods and ankylosaurs.
During the cretaceous period the area was a large freshwater lagoon with lucky fossil hunters finding remnants of crocodiles, turtles, bivalves and plants.
Take care whilst looking under the cliffs. They are very unpredictable.
