Walk 48 – Cliffe Creek to Egypt Bay, Kent
Walking along the Thames shoreline from Cliffe Creek to Egypt Bay, Kent, I could have whiled away the hours watching various craft waking the murky water.
One highlight being the flotilla of tall masted ships gently gliding their way to London. Shame they weren't under full sail.
When the going gets to soft there is a handy sea defence to walk along but surprisingly, there are some good stretches of beach to enjoy.
Return is along the footpath that shadows the shoreline back to Cliffe.
On this walk…
- Great views over the Thames to Canvey Island
- Various sailing vessels
- Strange abandoned buildings inland
- Ruined jetties
- Discarded pottery
- OS Explorer map 163 Gravesend & Rochester
