Walmer Castle to end of Deal, Kent

Walmer Castle to the end of Deal town, Kent, is short on length but big on history.

Taking in three castles, one a ruin, and the historic streets of Deal, this walk is a history buffs delight.

Shingle is the order of the day and is a great contrast to the sand drenched Sandwich Flats, a few miles further up the coast.

At high tide the return is along the Saxon Shore Way, giving plenty of opportunities to explore Deal.
