Kent and Sussex Shoreline Walk

Walk 29 – Pegwell Bay to Ramsgate, Kent

Sadly, the hovercraft station at Pegwell Bay, Kent has long gone, but the massive concrete staging is a permanent reminder of its existence.

It's a grey February day as I set off from the Stour estuary to Ramsgate, Kent for part 29 of my Kent & Sussex shoreline walks.

A short stretch of beach leads to cave riddled cliffs, the Pegwell Bay Hotel, then on to the busy Ramsgate port.

Walking to the town of Ramsgate, it's interesting to note that you actually are still following the shoreline with the chalk cliffs towering above.

Returning via the Thanet Coastal Path, this shortish walk combines, beach, sandy bay, cliffs and seaside town. Even better if the sun shines!
