Bayham Old Abbey
On a quiet day, the ruins of Bayham Old Abbey are a special place for peace and contemplation. With many original features, although there were some cosmetic works in the 18th century for aesthetic reasons (nothing is what it seems), the ruins are a photographers dream.
The thick sandstone walls still show the footprint of the 13th century abbey, ornate carved arches and windows give height and depth, a wonderful place to meander around.
Owned by English Heritage, you can find the abbey just off the B2169 Furnace Lane near Frant, Kent.
