St George's
Constructed from local Portland stone, the Georgian St George's church is a fine example constructed between 1754 and 1766.
Unusual in design, the galleries, lower seating and high box pews face the central pulpits, not the altar.
The vast graveyard homes over 2,500 memorials and headstones some of which tell colourful tales of press gangs and pirates.
Preserved by the Churches Conservation Trust.
