Portland Bill

A magnet for bird watchers, Portland Bill is the most southerly tip on the rugged limestone coastline of the Isle of Portland, Devon.

For hikers amongst you the South West Coast Path follows the coastline here, or you can take in windy coastal views from the iconic red and white Portland Bill lighthouse.

41 metres high and in service since 1906, you can venture up for a few quid. Try not to pick a too windy day, it will mess your hair up.

Close-by is the Pulpit Rock. Carved in the 1870s it is testimony to the skill of quarrymen.

There's plenty of parking, a visitor centre and restaurant.
