Foord / Folkestone viaduct

Driving home from Paddlesworth church I thought we could take a quick detour to the world's highest arched viaduct constructed from brick; the Foord viaduct in Folkestone, Kent. Grade II listed, some of the spans reach 100ft in height, 19 arches in total. Opened in December 1843 trains still chug over it today. A great piece of Victorian enterprise.
