Wakehurst Place
Home to the world's largest seed conservation project, the Millennium Seed Bank, Wakehurst Place sits in 500 acres of gardens, woodlands and a nature reserve.
These photos were taken in October 2013 but I doubt it has changed much. The walled garden is a delight while the water gardens are pure gems.
Surrounded by manicured lawns sits Wakehurst Place, a fine Elizabethan mansion of which a few rooms can be visited. Not a bad pad for those who enjoy the finer things.
Owned by the National Trust, Wakehurst as it is now known, is managed by the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew. More information at: Wakehurst
