Cranbrook Union Windmill

Open on several days of the year and free (that magical word) to enter, Cranbrook Union Windmill is an education. Grade I Listed, this recently renovated mill is fully working and inside you can explore right up to the 'cap' (the top).  Stepping out on to the reefing stage gives lovely 360 degree views over Cranbrook and Kent.

There has been a windmill on this site since 1814, which has seen various fortunes in its lifetime but now stands proud as the tallest surviving smock mill in Britain and still grinds flour today. Looked after by Volunteers of the Cranbrook Windmill Association, this Kent icon is well worth a visitor donation. The website is: Cranbrook Union Windmill.
