Green sea algae

Seen a few years ago now, this green stain of sea algae took me by surprise whilst walking along the sea front at St Leonards, East Sussex.

Green macroalgae, chlorophyta, is one of three types including brown and red. Neither plant or animal because of its genetic make-up, seaweed and kelp are a type of algae. Beware, toxins produced by algae can be harmful to humans and animals but it is interesting to witness.
