Lifeboats

Denton Island, Newhaven, East Sussex has a frontier, forgotten feel about it. Sounding like a town suburb from some cheesy police drama, this small island is dotted with work units and moated by the grey, murky, river Ouse and it is here where the interest lies.

Surprisingly, bobbing about between the house boats, rotting carcasses, barges, day boats and all manner of other vessels are three lifeboats.

All of different design and colour they simply float out from the crowd. Who owns them and how they got there is not important, but I would love to know from which ship they came and were they ever used?

Any information would be welcome.
