Walk 59 – Dartford Creek Barrier to Broadness Salt Marsh, Kent
It’s a glorious spring day for the stretch from the Dartford Creek Barrier to Broadness Salt Marsh, Kent along the river Thames.
Littered with jetties, pontoons and wharves, there is always something to look at and photograph. There is also a tiny stretch of shoreline to enjoy.
Always on the skyline is the ever busy Queen Elizabeth II bridge. Surprisingly quiet as you walk under it with hundreds of lorries thundering over it.
In contrast to the developed waterfront areas, Broadness Salt Marsh is an open, derelict wilderness with its very own boat graveyard.
