Walk 31 –Ferring to Littlehampton, Sussex
I'm feeling very guilty. For the 2nd day running I have untethered myself from my desk and escaped. May God have mercy on my pension plan.
Today, I'm walking from Ferring to Littlehampton, Sussex situated on the river Arun. The going is typical south coast; shingle, sand, groynes.
Near the water's edge this stretch of shoreline is a mecca for shell collectors. All shapes and sizes and they're everywhere.
At Littlehampton look out for the long spits of cobbles that defy the incoming tide till the last. A first for me in over 140 miles of shoreline.
Colourful beach huts line the return journey on a pleasant path and wide grass track.
