Day 7 – Grasmere
Rest day
After a peaceful night the day begins with grapefruit, prunes, blueberries, raspberries, yoghurt and a fry up. Thanks Wendy!
She's lived in the village over 50 years and is still an outsider.
In the past, I've been told that my left hip is slowly wearing out. So, I decide to have a lazy day in Grasmere.
Unhappy
A good decision! It rains all day and the village is awash with soggy, sad, unhappy people.
Postcards are on the shopping list and there's plenty of choice. What! £1.50 to get cash out of a machine. Another big bonus for someone.
Homage
Apparently 'Sting' has a home in Grasmere. The village needs people like him, they can afford the expensive tat and trendy outdoor gear.
After paying homage to Wordsworth and exploring back streets, I return to the B&B with a bottle of red.
Time for some planning.
Cyclists around Rydal Water.
The pretty and ever popular Grasmere.
