Standen House and Garden
Surrounded by 13 acres of gardens and walks, Standen House is noted for Mrs Beale's stunning and historic plant collection.
The house was built for James and Margaret Beale in the late 1800s, designed by Philip Webb and is decorated with furnishings by the late William Morris; artist, socialist and member of the British Arts and Crafts movement.
Glorious throughout the year, spring is exceptionally colourful with blazes of colour from azaleas, rhododendrons and camellia.
If arts and crafts, gardens and woodland walks are your thing, Standen House is the place to visit. Pick a nice day and you won't be disappointed. There's a café and stuff for kids too.
