Walk 36 – Birchington-on-Sea to Bishopstone, Kent
It's a glorious stretch of shoreline from Birchington-on-Sea heading west to Bishopstone, Kent. Mid April, the sun is shining but a chilly off-shore wind keeps the temperature down.
Losing the chalk cliffs and concrete sea defences of Birchington-on-Sea, the terrain levels out exposing the flat expanse of Wade Marsh.
History buffs will love the Roman fort and ruined church at Reculver just past the shellfish hatchery.
A lovely walk comprising beach, cliff top, concrete walkway and crustacean encrusted rocks.
