Navigational aids

Although I like to consider myself a experienced walker, hiker and trekker, I still, when exploring the coastlines, countryside and lanes of Kent and Sussex, take a map, compass and GPS.

We take for granted our sat navs and street names which tells us exactly where we are and point us in the right direction.

Even if you only learn the basics of map and compass, it will save a lot of worry and frustration when you do get lost. And take it from me, you will get lost.
I still do.

By carrying navigational aids, I can find my location at all times and it also helps me practice the art of personal navigation.

Below is a small choice of compass, GPS and navigational books. Even if you only venture around your locale, you can explore with confidence.
